Summer is here and nothing acompanies a hike better than these delicious planet-positive Buffalo Chickpea Wraps.

Smokey Cheeze sauce:

  • 1 cup cashews (or sunflower seeds)

  • 1/2 cup plant-based plain yoghurt

  • 2 Tbsp vegetable broth

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 Tbsp nutritional yeast

Spicy Chickpea veggie filling:

  • 1/4 cup plant-based butter

  • 4 Tbsp Frank's hot sauce (adjust as preferred)

  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder

  • Pinch of salt

  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced

  • Splash of water

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 can chickpeas

  • 4 spring onions

  • Chopped leafy greens

  • Shredded carrots

  • 8 large wraps


  1. Blend all sauce ingredients in a blender until smooth (Optional: heat on a stove for a few mins to thicken)

  2. Drain and rinse chickpeas, then roughly mash

  3. Chop onion and garlic, saute in a pan with a splash of water until translucent

  4. Stir in plant-based butter, hot sauce, garlic powder, salt and maple syrup

  5. Add mashed chickpeas, stir together and turn heat off

  6. Add chopped spring onions, leafy greens and grated carrots and mix together

  7. Add filling mix and sauce to wraps. Enjoy!
